Request a provider conduct the screening (can be combined with another visit or scheduled as a separate visit).
Any provider qualifies (including free clinics), should your loved one not wish to ask their primary care provider for the screening.
Attend the appointment and complete the screening.
Engage in recommended follow-up treatment and/or referrals.

Although it is not frequently emphasized on television or online, and not often discussed even amongst healthcare professionals, older adults continue to engage in behaviors that increase the risk for HIV infection, such as needle sharing (for both legitimate and illegitimate drugs) and risky sexual behaviors and practices.
