I spent over a decade in acute care before pursuing home health, where I saw the abundance of care that unpaid family caregivers provide and their struggles to keep doing so safely and sanely. Family caregivers don’t need more facts and stats or articles on what they should do. They don’t need constant reminders that what they do is hard. They need validation that what they do is effective. They need to be able to manage expectations. They need more how-to, when, and with what, which is the aim of Helpful.

From there, I developed an urge to understand how to make a difference in healthcare. To that end, I made it my mission to help my family and others better navigate the healthcare system. The mission of Helpful to empower caregivers and demystify healthcare resonate strongly with me. Delivering healthier outcomes and improving quality of healthcare is my objective!
