Therapeutic Approach
I believe therapy works best when it feels like a real, honest connection. I don't see myself as an expert on your life. I'm here to walk alongside you, help you make sense of things, and support you in figuring out what's working, what's not, and what you want to shift. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and focused on creating a space where you can be yourself. Depending on your goals, I'll bring in different approaches that can help us understand patterns, build new tools, and make meaningful changes. We may look at how your thoughts and behaviors are connected with Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), work on staying grounded and managing strong emotions with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), explore motivation for change when you're feeling stuck with Motivational Interviewing (MI), or making space to understand how past experiences may still be affecting you today with Psychodynamic. No matter what we are working on, I always try to show up with empathy, curiosity, and care. Most importantly, I will meet you wherever you are in the process.
Specializations & Interests
I provide support to a wide range of individuals, including teens and adults 12 and older, each bringing their unique experiences and strengths. My experience includes working with at-risk youth, men within the criminal justice system, first responders, college students, and individuals who often put others' needs before their own. I specialize in helping people manage anxiety, depression, grief, compassion fatigue, body image concerns, and stress related to life transitions or demanding roles.
Biography
I received my Master's Degree in Social Work from Indiana University. During my internship, I had the privilege of gaining experience in community mental health, school systems, and a residential treatment facility. After graduation, I worked in a prison setting while continuing to support community mental health. I've also practiced in private settings and conducted assessments for individuals with serious mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and related conditions. When I'm not working, I enjoy chasing the sun, sipping on an iced coffee, and spending quality time with my family. I'm also a big animal lover and would welcome any pet appearances in session! Like many, I'm figuring it out as I go by learning, growing, and doing my best to show up with care and authenticity every day.
