NON-EMERGENCY (Non-EMT or NEMT): To book your ride, call the transportation number on the back of your member ID card.
It is best to contact the ambulance non-emergency line to arrange transport; do not call 9-1-1 in a non-emergency.
Remember that non-EMT or NEMT is non-emergency transport.
For routine care, call up to 1 month and at least 3 days in advance. Same day rides are subject to availability.
Rides (also called "trips") are limited to 75 miles, one-way, and up to four one-way trips per day.
Caregivers aren’t always available to transport their loved ones to appointments, or reliable transportation may not always be available, and some appointments may not allow the caregiver to accompany their loved one anyway. In these and other instances, ensuring a means of getting to and from necessary appointments is essential and a relief.
In the case where reliable transportation is not available to you, though you still wish to accompany your loved one to their appointment, you may ride with your loved one in the arranged transportation unless the transport service does not permit you to accompany them in the vehicle (which is sometimes the case).
Health plan members are covered for trips to and from health-related appointments and services such as primary care, specialty care, procedures, and programs.
Arrangements should be made at least three days in advance.
