VNS Health Total plan members are entitled to additional Medicaid-covered services, meaning there are no coverage limits for medically necessary outpatient occupational therapy (OT), speech therapy (ST), and physical therapy (PT) visits that are ordered by a provider.
Obtain a network provider referral for outpatient rehab services.
Contact the VNS Health Total Care Team at (866) 783-1444 (TTY 711) for prior authorization.
The ordering provider may help with authorization.
Select a network rehab facility: Click on the Specialists tab on the page, then scroll to click on the discipline needed - Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and/or Speech Therapy.
Schedule an initial visit with the discipline(s) ordered.
The network rehab facility may also help with authorization.
Attend the initial visit and, together with the therapist(s), identify issues and develop goals of care.
Attend future visits, as scheduled, until goals are achieved or progress ceases.

The three main types of rehabilitation therapy are occupational, physical, and speech. Each form of rehabilitation serves a unique purpose in helping a person reach full recovery, but all share the ultimate goal of helping the patient return to a healthy and active lifestyle.
Outpatient rehabilitation services are provided in various outpatient settings, such as hospital outpatient departments, independent therapist offices, and comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facilities (CORFs).
Covered services include physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language therapy.
