Request that a network primary care provider conduct the screening (can be combined with another visit or scheduled as a separate visit).
Any provider in a primary care setting can conduct the HIV screening (such as a free clinic) in case your loved one does not wish to have their primary care provider do it.
Attend the appointment and complete the screening.
Engage in recommended follow-up treatment and/or referrals.

Free, discreet HIV screening is available for those at increased risk for HIV infection.
While HIV is far more manageable today than 30 years ago, and people live full and expected lifetimes even with HIV, it remains prevalent in our society and requires continuous monitoring.
